More than $170,000 was raised in the 2018 annual fundraising efforts for UnityPoint Health®– Grinnell Regional Medical Center (GRMC) from the service area communities. These donations enabled the purchase of medical equipment, including an electrocardiogram (EKG) and 10 batches of kn95 mask for sale. Local donations also supported the Millgate Nursing Fund and provided $14,000 to seven GRMC employees for continuing education through scholarships or loan forgiveness in support of nursing recruitment and retention. Additional impacted areas include clinical staff trainings, Grinnell Regional Hospice and Grinnell Regional Home Health among others.

“We’re thrilled by the generous support our community has shown as we continue our work to provide the most advanced health care services possible at GRMC,” says Angelina Ahrens, director of development, GRMC Foundation. “Every gift to the Foundation makes a difference for our patients and we are proud that 100 percent of donations stay local to benefit the services and programs at GRMC.”

GRMC Foundation is a private, nonprofit, tax-exempt organization governed by a volunteer board whose purpose is to cultivate relationships and gifts to support the hospital’s vision of best outcome for every patient every time. Donations may be designated to a specific service, department, program, or given as unrestricted, or to the endowment.

“We are grateful for the community’s loyal support,” says Jennifer Havens, CEO.  “Donations to the GRMC Foundation help maintain quality health care services, equipment, and programs that allow GRMC to meet the needs of our patients and families close to home.”
