The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is continually revising its guidelines for responding to the coronavirus, with the most recent revisions coming out this week. Currently, the CDC calls for a 14-day special assessment of individuals following arrival in the United States if they have come from or traveled through China.

We are currently working with two Grinnell students whose circumstances fall within the parameters of the CDC’s guidelines. We have been in contact with Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) officials and are following all CDC and IDPH recommendations and guidelines. They are not being quarantined. Both students, who do not exhibit any symptoms, agreed to be temporarily housed in a private College residence per CDC guidelines.
