St. Francis Manor & Seeland Park Announce a “National Wear Red Day” Fashion Show Open to the Public on February 7th

(Grinnell, IA – January 15, 2020)  A Go Red for Women Fashion Show will be hosted by St. Francis Manor, Seeland Park and the Hammond Center for Assisted Living on Friday, February 7 at 2 PM in recognition of National Wear Red Day.  This fun-filled red-hot event is open to the public and will be held in the St. Francis Manor Social Center, located off St. Francis Drive north of 4th Avenue.

Eight Seeland Park and Hammond Center ladies will be modeling red-inspired fashions from the Christopher & Banks’ clothing store in Williamsburg, including Betty Brown, Char Byriel, Laura Eidsness, Janet Marcum,  Janice Mergen, Karen Tish, Ginny Young and Ileen Zegers.  Following the Fashion Show, clothing from Christopher & Banks will be available for purchase.  Attendees can also enjoy heart-healthy snacks prior to the style show.  

To save lives and raise awareness of heart disease which is the No. 1 killer of women, the American Heart Association launched Go Red for Women in 2003.  Women are encouraged to wear red, raise their voices, and make healthy lifestyle changes to live longer, happier and healthier lives!

“We are excited to host this event to help people become more aware of heart disease and what steps they can take to prevent it. Many women don’t know how big of a problem heart disease is. Our Go Red event brings women together to spread awareness about this silent killer,” said Fitness Director Kayla Faas.
