Music Planned for the Holiday Senior Education Program

Festive copyright free music will fill the air at the final UnityPoint Health®– Grinnell Regional Medical Center (GRMC) Senior Education Program of 2018. Rev. Dr. Kevin Emge will entertain attendees on Monday, Dec. 10, at the annual holiday SEED gathering with a discussion on the significance of different holiday songs followed by a piano performance.

Emge studied the piano in college under Robert Sutton. After taking a long sabbatical, Emge took up the instrument again studying under the late Bob Lien at the Drake University School of Music. Emge competes in a number of piano competitions around the country, including tickling the ivories at the Iowa State Fair.

The holiday gathering will be held at the Grinnell United Methodist Church, on the corner of Park Street and 5thAvenue, to accommodate the performance. Refreshments will be served at 9:30 a.m. in the church fellowship center so guests may socialize prior to the program. Emge will perform at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. This event is free and open to the public.

Seniors needing transportation may call the GRMC Office of Communications and Development at 641-236-2961 by the Thursday before the program.
