Socrates Cafe Socrates Café, technically, is a book written by Christopher Phillips (check it out from the library), author and co-founder of The Society for Philosophical Inquiry. Chris developed the idea of Socrates Café to do as Socrates did, bring philosophy to the every day individual. All are welcome to join in the discussion. Bookin’ It @the Drake Check out a copy of The Library Book by Susan Orlean and come along to our small group discussion. You will not only learn about the Los Angeles Public Library fire of 1986, but you will also learn some amazing things about libraries AND make new friends at the same time on Thursday January 9th from 7 to 8 pm. The group meets on the 2nd Thursday every other month in the Story Room. After School @DCL Discover, Connect and Learn with STEAM activities on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 5 pm. There will be a station with Legos and two other stations with items to explore. Holiday Hours There will be an early close on December 31st and the library will be closed on January 1st.
