(Grinnell, IA – April 3, 2019) The public is invited to an Open House on Sunday, April 14, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the new Hammond Center for Assisted Living located at 907 Orchard Drive just north of 4thAvenue on the east side of Grinnell. Those attending the Open House will view three different apartment sizes on the ground floor of the Hammond Center and approximately 9,000 sq. ft. of amenities located in the lower level, including a walking track, fitness equipment, exercise room, movie theater, etc. for use by all campus residents and staff. The following tenants of the Hammond Center will open their homes for tours: Ruth Jones – Apartment 104; Dorothy Peak – Apartment 107; and Ned Postels – Apartment 108. Light appetizers will also be available in the Hammond Center dining area.
Several assisted living apartments are still available for individuals or couples who require assistance with one or more activities of daily living from 24-hour on-site staff in a safe and secure environment. The 20-unit Hammond Center for Assisted Living provides private apartments plus comfortable common areas, personalized care from dedicated and trained staff members, three balanced meals and a variety of engaging activities.
The Hammond Center for Assisted Living is the newest addition to the 31-acre Life Plan Community which includes Seeland Park, an independent living community with 145 residences of various sizes, and the St. Francis Manor skilled nursing and long-term healthcare center. The Life Plan Community provides its residents the ability to age in place and offers a variety of home healthcare services through Community Services of St. Francis as well as outpatient, in-home and inpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy through the Rehabilitation Clinic at St. Francis Manor.
