Nominations Sought for Creative Community Poster Series

Grinnell, Iowa – The Grinnell Area Arts Center is pleased to announce that it is seeking nominations for the third year of Creative Community, the annual poster series that celebrates and highlights the diverse, colorful talents of Grinnell and the surrounding area. Nominations can be submitted online at or you can stop by the Grinnell Arts Center, Drake Community Library, or Lonnski’s to submit a paper form. Submissions will be accepted until April 3, 2015.

Artists of all ages and all creative talents throughout Poweshiek County are encouraged to take part in this year’s poster series, organized by Isaac Andino, the Arts Council’s Service Learning Fellow.  “I’ve really been amazed at the tremendous amount of creativity that’s to be found in Grinnell,” says Andino. “The Creative Community series seeks to celebrate this creativeness and recognize local artists of all kinds. I can’t wait to see what cool talents and passions get nominated.”

Selected artists will be featured on GAAC’s website and on the posters that will be displayed in storefronts throughout Grinnell. Among the many talents honored last year were a stained glass artist, salvage engineer, healer, and writer.
