Members of 100 + People Who Care – Grinnell voted at their February 18 meeting to fund Grinnell Connected PTO’s project to send this year’s 4thGrade students to the Y-Camp, near Boone, for a three-day, two-night camping experience with their classmates, teachers and chaperones.  At the meeting, which had been postponed twice because of weather, members heard three presentations of significant projects impacting the greater Grinnell area.  Members then voted, with the resulting decision to fund Grinnell Connected PTO. The meeting concluded with each member writing a check for $ 100 to this beneficiary organization.  With 8 new members joining the pooled philanthropy group, the resulting donation totals nearly $ 12,000, which will satisfy this year’s funding need.

GThe quarterly meeting of 100 + People Who Care – Grinnell was held at St. Mary’s Parish Center, where similar meetings will be held the 4thTuesday of April, July, and October. Each quarter’s meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. and lasts less than one hour.  With this meeting’s donation, the total contributed to worthy projects in the area now exceeds $ 69,000, since the organization’s formation in January, 2017.
