Imagine Grinnell’s Tree Inventory Project
Upcoming Topic for SE*ED
Trees are important to homeowners and businesses, and add to the quality of life in Grinnell. Imagine Grinnell is furthering their mission by helping to manage tree and woodland resources. Using innovative GIS technology, we catalog and assess the condition for each tree. Additionally, we include the species, age, condition, and value of the trees in a landscape. With the current threat of Emerald Ash Borer already confirmed in Jasper County, this information can help prepare and anticipate succession, saving money and making budgeting easier down the road.
Imagine Grinnell Executive Director, Sarah Smith, and board member, Jordan Scheibel, will be the featured speakers on Monday, April 21, at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center SE*ED program.
The program is free and open to the public at the Drake Community Library. Social time and refreshments begin by 9:30 a.m. and the lecture runs from 10 to 11 a.m. Parking is available at the Drake Community Library, along Park Street, on Fifth Avenue, and in the First Presbyterian Church parking lot. Seniors needing transportation may call GRMC’s Office of Communications and Development at 641-236-2954 the Thursday before the program.
