(Grinnell, IA – October 14, 2015)  St. Francis Manor is pleased to announce that Mindy Van Dyke has been named Director of Development on a part-time basis to lead the fundraising efforts for the proposed Hammond Center for Assisted Living and to oversee the overall development efforts of St. Francis Manor and Seeland Park. The proposed Hammond Center for Assisted Living will be a 2-story, 20-unit community connecting to the 10-plex apartments and the Administration Offices on the east side of St. Francis Manor.

Mindy continues to own and operate Stepping Stones Christian Bookstores in Grinnell and Marshalltown. She is excited to be a part of this project to provide additional assisted living opportunities for seniors in our community and to complete the continuum of care provided by the Seeland Park independent living community and the St. Francis Manor healthcare center.

The Hammond Center for Assisted Living Campaign is a $1.25 million, 5-year capital campaign. St. Francis Manor has applied for USDA financing in the amount of $3.5 million. The initial goal is to raise $500,000 by April 1, 2016, which is the amount required by the USDA be available in order to begin the project. The remaining portion of the campaign goal will be used to finish the lower level for residential fitness and entertainment options.

For more information about how you can help make the Hammond Center for Assisted Living a reality, please contact Mindy Van Dyke, Director of Development, at (641) 990-1381 or Dion Schrack, Executive Administrator, at (641) 236-7592.
