Allergies and Allergic Diseases Upcoming Topic at GRMC SE*ED Program
Grinnell Regional Medical Center is pleased to welcome Miles Weinberger, MD, professor of pediatrics and founder of the University of Iowa Pediatric Allergy and Pulmonary Division. Weinberger will be the speaker at the GRMC SE*ED program on Monday, September 22.
The program begins at 10 a.m. in the Caulkins Community Room at the Drake Community Library. There is no charge to attend, although donations are accepted. Refreshments are served.
“We receive requests on this topic from our guests,” says Laura Nelson Lof, SE*ED program coordinator. “In addition to learning about our own allergies, we also want to learn about those of our grandchildren and great-grandchildren and why they seem so much more prevalent today.”
Weinberger is a prolific researcher and author on allergies, allergic diseases, and asthma. He joined the faculty of the pediatric department at the University of Iowa in 1975. He is a featured speaker throughout the United States and in 20 foreign countries.
Looking forward on the schedule, Beth Kirton, BSN, GRMC nurse manager will present, “Every Breath You Take,” a program on GRMC’s new pulmonary rehabilitation program on September 28.
Parking is available at the Drake Community Library, along Park Street, on Fifth Avenue, and in the First Presbyterian Church parking lot.
