GRINNELL, Iowa– The annual Friday Night Live events will kick off on June 7, 2019, in downtown Grinnell. The June Friday Night Live will feature musician Damon Dotson and have a food truck and beverages on site.
Entertainment for the night, Damon Dotson, will perform on stage from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
In addition to live music, there will be a beverage garden with wine and beer and food from ‘The Box Lunch’ food truck. The Box Lunch is a food truck designed to look like a diner and sell grilled cheese sandwiches, “monster” burgers, hand-dipped milkshakes, and other diner style food. Friday Night Live is a family-friendly event and there will be hands-on activities provided by Create-n-Celebrate for children to enjoy.
Friday Night Live will take place in Central Park in downtown Grinnell. Attendees are encouraged to explore and experience the features of Central Park including the popular water feature, play equipment, and the history walk. Friday Night Live is produced by the Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by Hotel Grinnell, Grinnell College and ASI Signage. The Chamber of Commerce is seeking volunteers for Friday Night Live. Friday Night Live events in the park are also scheduled for Friday, July 5, with music by Whiplash from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. and Friday, August 2 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m, artist TBA. Friday Night Live is open to all ages free of charge; some activities may require payment. Limited food and beverage will be available for purchase; however, attendees are encouraged to dine at local establishments prior to the event.
